Lovely to have time together. My sons are much closer, but I don’t see them often due to other constraints.

The pattern developing with Canadian son is they come back once a year and we go over once a year. Bristol family much closer thank goodness.

That’s nice to have such regular contact when they’re so far away. My ex-husband was Canadian. His Dad was Canadian and his Mum a Yorkshire lass. They could never afford for her to come back and see her parents. They all eventually came to the UK. My husband’s brother emigrated to Oz and I think only got back 3 times to see UK family. It’s tough when family are spread around the world, but I think if I was much younger I’d emigrate too!

So would I. There was a window of opportunity when my husband and I were younger but we both had aged parents that needed looking after.

I'm glad you got to spend some time with your family! We'll be seeing both our children and our new granddaughter this weekend--and other family members, too.
